Race Information - Frequently Asked Questions

Q When can we pick up our race packages? Where do we pick them up?
A Race package pick up is at the Host Hotel. Package pickup is open Friday May 16, 4 pm to 8 pm. Sat May 17 11 am to 8 pm. The Black Knight Inn is at 2929 50 Avenue, Red Deer.


Q Can I change my T Shirt size?
A Yes, until one month before the race date.


Q What are the age categories?
A Categories are: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over.


Q Can I change from one event to the other
A Yes, event changes are allowed up to May17, 2008.


Q I'm injured - Can I get my money back?
A No, sorry, there are no refunds.


Q Host Hotel is full. Where do you recommend?
A Visit the Tourism Red Deer website for a list of local hotels.


Q In US dollars - how much is my entry fee?
A Check this currency converter.


Q Any incentive for elite runners?
A Yes, Cash Prizes for top finishers - 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female in both the Marathon & Half Marathon 1st - $300, 2nd - $200, 3rd - $100


Q What sport drink will you be supplying at the race?
A Powerade.


Q Is there a gel station?
A Several,powergel supplied at the 25k, 27k, 32k and the 34 k mark.


Q Is there a limited number of pasta tickets?
A Yes, we only have seating for 250 people.


Q Will runners receive confirmation that they are entered?
A Yes, if you enter by mail visit the online registration page - scroll to the bottom and you will find a link to confirm entries. Please allow sufficient time for your entry to show up - or if you register online it will show up immediately! Please allow a month for mail in registration to be posted.


Q Will the results be posted on your web site?
A Yes, baring technical glitches they should be posted same day.


Q Is there a bag drop off?
A Yes, at the start/finish area.


Q Are there Km markers on the course?
A Yes, every Km is marked.


Q Are there showers available?
A Yes, showers are available at the Ecole Camille J Lerouge School gym.


Q Will there be on course photos taken?
A Woody's RV half/full Marathon, all race images will be available for FREE. You'll be able to download, print, email, screensave ... do whatever you wish, with images taken from Fleet Feet Photos.


Q How far apart are the aid stations?
A There is an aid station every 3 Km.


Q Is there a "Beer Tent"?
A No, city bylaws do not allow a beer tent in our location.


Q Will I have an enjoyable experience?
A On a course like this? By all means you will!!


Q How difficult is the course?
A Moderate. Mostly flat on asphalt trails with about 3 Km on packed dirt/gravel. Some undulations with 2 hills of about 20m elevation gain over 150 meter distance.
